Our Mission

We are a non-profit regional school founded in 1990 as a merger of Holy Innocent's Elementary School, Saint James' Elementary School, and Saint Martin's Elementary School serving Catholic and non-Catholic families in the West End section of Pittsburgh.

Our mission is to provide a framework of learning that develops in students:

* Positive attitudes of learning
* An ability to acquire, integrate, refine and extend knowledge in the classroom and on their own.
* Productive habits of mind, and an attitude that stresses Christian Values in all areas of life.

We will work with our students to achieve high academic standards, an appreciation for others, the community, and the world environment. We strive for our students to possess good self-esteem, and a sense of personal effectiveness, which includes a belief in their ability to shape the future and assume a responsible role in the Church and society.

Our Philosophy

Elizabeth Seton Regional Elementary School recognizes the diverse population of the community, acknowledges the uniqueness of our students and strives to provide a climate whereby Catholic values permeate the daily learning experiences of each child.

Elizabeth Seton Regional Elementary School, through our faith and learning community, fosters service to God, His Church and all of His people. Through the development of strong Christian values, and the recognition of the individual's worth, we affirm the rights of each child in an atmosphere of deep respect, love and reverence.

Elizabeth Seton Regional Elementary School provides a strong and dynamic curricular and extra-curricular program that permits each student to progress at the highest level of his/her potential.

Elizabeth Seton Regional Elementary School strives to enable each student to participate actively in a comprehensive religious program through the recitation of daily prayers, the celebration of the Mass, sacramental programs, and other liturgical and paraliturgical services.

Elizabeth Seton Regional Elementary School strives to provide each child with the spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, aesthetic and physical discipline that will allow him/her to take their place as socially responsible and contributing members of the twenty first century.
